FAQs
Your questions answered

On this page, we have tried to answer the most common questions we are asked.

Why has everything gone Small Business?
Corporates have recently laid a lot of people off, so there is a huge labour shift of to the small business community and the small business market has increased in size over night. We are a gold mine, there is more opportunity for growth in small firms than anywhere else - like always big firms follow the consumer.

What is the ultimate aim of Top10Tips.co.uk?
The ultimate aim is to build a free nationwide Information System with 700 contributors and make the information available via various media and to allow disconnected small business owners to reach out and connect.

How does Top10 help B2B service providers?
Our service is about free information and sign-posting people to the correct places. That means sign-posting people to you, your company or your product.

Great, but people will do it all themselves?
No. A sole trader needs information to make decisions and so does a business owner. Our delivery is about providing guidance and then sign-posting people to the right places. It is a myth that people build businesses on their own - we all need support services.

How does this help the overall community?
The publication aims to pave the way for a more prosperous, more productive community, that sees a reduction in search time and gives people a reliable source to turn to.

What if I use your website; and then my business fails?
The information is here as guidance. It is provided as free advice and gives you a starting point and platform for you to work from. Naturally you will need to take responsibility for your own actions, seek suitable people to work with - our role stops at sign-posting our readers.

How do I know your advertisers are credible service providers?
We have prepared a set of guidelines to encourage best practice and quality amongst the people who advertise with us. Small business is a dynamic group and in addition we have set some ground rules that are quite strong for advertisers to adhere to.

Are all the contributors credible?
We would like to think so, we have taken a long time over the selection processes and tried to find people who are "doing it and prepared to share it" rather than those who are simply "talking about doing it". Some of our contributors have vast experience and taken up to 4 weeks to prepare and write their material.
