Social Enterprise: Is It Right For You?
| | Tip#4 Don’t neglect the economics! A social enterprise is NOT a charity. It is first and foremost a business and your primary aim is to make a PROFIT. The difference between a social enterprise and a traditional business is that traditionally businesses would seek to make a profit at the expense of everything else, including human rights, the environment, and the well-being of our children’s future.
Your role as a social entrepreneur is to MAXIMIsE profits while also being sustainable and responsible, and remaining true to your ethics and values.
(Gentle reminder: Keep checking in with how you’re feeling. How do you feel about being a social entrepreneur? Does it feel right to you?)
